Brad Treloar is an award-winning musical director, accompanist, and music educator whose passion for storytelling through music has made him one of the most respected figures in the Geelong theatre community.
After leading the music for Geelong Lyric Theatre Society’s Mamma Mia! (2025), Brad returns to the podium for Beauty and the Beast (2026), bringing his trademark precision, warmth, and musical excellence to another beloved production.
A Life in Music
With more than 25 years of experience, Brad has worked extensively across classical, contemporary, and musical theatre genres as a teacher, performer, arranger, and director. He has waved the baton for an impressive list of productions, including:
The Phantom of the Opera, Oliver!, The Sound of Music, Evita, 13 The Musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Addams Family, Cinderella, The Last Five Years, The Wizard of Oz, You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, Into the Woods, and School of Rock.
Brad also created, arranged, and musically directed the much-loved Wish Upon a Song concert series, celebrating the magic of Disney music.

Brad’s extensive musical training spans both classical and contemporary disciplines. His qualifications include:

He is an experienced concert artist and teacher, offering private tuition in piano, organ (classical and Electone), and musical theatre singing, including exam preparation for AMEB and VCE Music Performance.
Brad also teaches at Christian College Geelong, where he inspires the next generation of musicians, and is a sought-after choir director, accompanist, examiner, arranger, and adjudicator across Victoria.
Brad was honoured to serve as the Musical Director for the 2023 Musical Theatre Guild of Victoria Awards Night, showcasing his ability to lead and collaborate with some of Victoria’s finest theatrical talent.
He has also received recognition for his outstanding work in musical direction, including the Geoff Tomkins Award for Musical Direction (2020/2021), and was nominated for Best Musical Director for The Phantom of the Opera (2013).
Beyond the pit, Brad is a dedicated leader in the community. He has co-produced several Geelong Lyric Theatre Society successes, including Jersey Boys and The Wizard of Oz, and currently serves as President of the Geelong Lyric Theatre Society.
