Tania Grant is a highly sought-after and internationally trained voice teacher, choral conductor, and musical theatre vocal director whose career spans more than two decades and three continents. Known for her deep expertise in vocal health and performance, Tania brings a wealth of experience to Geelong Lyric Theatre Society’s Beauty and the Beast (2026), serving as both Assistant Director and Vocal Director.

Training & Credentials

Tania’s extensive vocal education includes qualifications from:

  • Boston Conservatory at Berklee (US)

She also trained with the late Kristin Linklater in Orkney, Scotland — a defining experience that shaped her approach to voice and performance.

A recognised expert in musical theatre vocal health, Tania continues to expand her research and practice, presenting nationally and internationally. In 2025, she presented at both the ANATS National Conference in Melbourne and the International Congress of Voice Teachers in Canada.

Professional Highlights

Tania’s career encompasses a rich blend of education, performance, and creative leadership. She currently serves as Head of Voice at St Ignatius College, Drysdale, where she inspires the next generation of performers through vocal pedagogy, ensemble work, and performance coaching.

A self-proclaimed “voice geek,” Tania is an active member of Australian National Association of Teachers of Singing (ANATS), National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), Voice and Speech Trainers Association (VASTA), and the Australian Voice Association (AVA).

Her research into “Brain Development in Adolescent Females and Its Impact on the Singing Voice” was presented at the ANATS 2020 Conference and praised by the Voice Study Centre UK. Her paper, “Vocal Direction in Community/Non Professional and Secondary School Theatre” was recently presented at the ANATS 2025 Conference and is being prepared for publication in 2026.

Tania balances her professional life with her greatest roles — wife to Alistair and mother to their son, Percy.

Leadership & Choral Work

Beyond the theatre, Tania is an accomplished choral conductor and vocal coach. She has toured with choirs to New Zealand, the United States, and the Sydney Opera House. She is returning to the Geelong Summer Music Camp in 2026 as the Djilang Singers Choir Conductor, reflecting her passion for accessible, joyful, and inclusive music-making.
