Get ready for a deliciously dark and hilarious night at the theatre as The Addams Family creeps onto The Story House stage at the Geelong Arts Centre from October 1–11, 2026.
Presented by Geelong Lyric Theatre Society, with powerhouse creative team Director/Choreographer Tamara Finch and Musical Director Britteny Ling, this production will not be one to miss. This much-loved musical embraces the wackiness in every family, with an original story that sees Wednesday Addams all grown up and in love with a very normal young man. When the Addams host an ill-fated dinner with his respectable parents, secrets unravel, chaos ensues, and nothing will ever be quite the same again. Packed with sharp humour, heart, and unforgettable characters, The Addams Family is a show that celebrates love, loyalty, and the beautifully strange.
HOW TO AUDITION
STEP 1 - Download and read the audition pack thoroughly
Before booking your audition, please ensure you have carefully read all information provided in the audition pack, including character breakdowns, rehearsal schedules, expectations, and requirements.
STEP 2 - Prepare List of Credits &/or Bio
Even if you think everyone in Geelong already knows who you are, please include a list of your performance experience when booking your audition.
This can be a formal CV or simply dot points and should include:
Show name
Company
Year performed
Most recent and/or most credible productions
Any guild or award nominations
A few brief points about yourself outside of theatre
If you have no performance experience, give more info about why you want to be in this musical and general interest points we could use to beef out your program bio
This information does not need to be well written. Accuracy is far more important. Dot points are absolutely fine.
NOTE: We ask for this information because it is used for cast announcements, program bios, and marketing material. The more information you provide upfront, the easier it makes things for our marketing team later on. That means more time spent promoting the show well, helping us sell lots of tickets… and minimising any unfortunate program faux pas along the way.
STEP 3 - Check your availability carefully
Please ensure you are available for rehearsal, production, and performance dates listed in the audition pack and that you meet all requirements before booking your audition. Take note of any known absences so. you can add your audition form.
STEP 4 - Book Audition
Once you have done all of the above, you are ready to secure your audition time. We cannot wait to see what delightfully dark talent walks through the door.
